Mission Statement – Friends of Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge

We are dedicated to supporting the conservation and stewardship of coastal habitats and wildlife across Connecticut. By advancing responsible stewardship and collaborating with our partner organizations we strive to ensure the long-term health of the refuge’s lands and advocacy of its wildlife for future generations.

Through meaningful volunteer opportunities, we empower community members to actively participate in habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring, and refuge improvement projects. We are committed to providing engaging educational programs that inspire environmental awareness, promote conservation, and connect people of all ages to the importance of protecting our natural resources.
